Web Hosting Customer Service and Yahoo's 800 Number

What people really want is...good customer service... Even in the online world, people want to know that there's a human working there behind the scenes.  For those of you that deal with web hosting companies, you may have experienced an occasional run-in with bad customer service.

I read an article by Robin Nobles that outlines common problems that people have with web hosting companies:

  • You can never find an actual person to talk to!
  • Hosting companies often think that the “lowest price” will always get the sale, but they fail to realize that what people really want is excellent customer service
  • Many hosting companies don’t provide any other functionality other than Web site hosting.
  • Technical support people often don’t make the best “customer support” people.

Robin goes on to recommend Combustion Hosting Company.  I've personally never heard of the company, but Robin says that this company has excellent service.

I currently use Yahoo! Webhosting for my websites and have had no major issues with their customer support in five years.  I know that people get Yahoo! Web Hostingfrusterated because they can't find Yahoo's phone number very easily, so if you're one of these people, here's Yahoo's 800 numbers:

 Yahoo! Small Business Billing Support
  (800) 318-0870
Yahoo! Small Business Technical Support
  (800) 318-0783

If you have any comments about either of the above mentioned web hosting companies, please leave them here....

» Surviving Online from CustomersAreAlways
This is the question posed in an article in Business Week.  With all these new companies popping up, the energy seems to be high in Silicon Valley again.  Heck, the energy is high all over the world.  There are literally... [Read More]

I recently registered for a 2nd email address through Yahoo. And I printed out the confirmation sheet of information but everytime I go in to log in it refuses my information. It says like it is wrong. And I was wandering if you guys can help me with this problem. I am also very new to the email system so that you know. I already have an existing email through Gmail, but I was trying to create a new one for further ability.
You can reach me either at my email address or my home phone:707-426-5434
Thank you.

There is no such a thing called customer service from Yahoo, our website( Yahoo hosted) cannot be read in China at all, we don't know why, we could not access to our business mail neither, it has happened all the time since we signed up this service of web hosting. Worst of all, to find any human being at Yahoo customer care to talk to is almost impossible, either we reached only prerecorded voice mail or we had to wait for more than twenty minutes. This is insane!! Does Yahoo management even care about their business at all?

Frustrating still!

I am amazed that the conact us page has a bug that keeps repeating the selection of problem type page all the time in an infinite loop! You never get past that page to know either the phone numbers or email to someone real in yahoo to let him/her know what the problem is! You just cant reach customer care! Neither by phone nor by email! What do you do?! Does yahoo have really any customers ? Or have a made a blunder by buying it?

I don't believe there is a phone number for yahoo personals, is there? I've been looking since 3 days, and no numbers. True.com has it's customer care phone number, but it seems that yahoo personals does not. I was trying to cancel my membership, and even at that, it took me 3 days to do it, since the "run around."

Yahoo is going down the drain, the thing is, it should have a long time ago.

There are still good hosting companies out there with great email and phone support. Rackspace, C I Host, and Blue Host are three quick examples.

As for Yahoo!, it's one of the worst. Took 5 days to answer a simple PHP question. Avoid them.

i am very annoyed with the services of yahoo as my e-mail id has been blocked therefore i could not send any mail or recieve any mail.

I registered a domain that is owned by someone.how come these things happen wherein i used my own email address.yahoo let me publish my domain and paid for all costs only to find out at the end that i cant used the domain because its was previously registered to other user.there is no way to refund my money?or else give me ways to change my domain name without spending money again.i'm very frustrated with your services really.
